Dr. Yurim M. Choi is a versatile and celebrated musician whose career spans decades of excellence as a soloist, collaborative pianist, conductor, and educator. A native of South Korea, Dr. Choi began her piano studies at the age of three and quickly rose to prominence, winning prestigious honors including the SAI Music Competition and the American Guild of Organists competition.

Her international performance career includes appearances as a soloist with the Rumania Symphony Orchestra and collaborations with world-renowned artists such as French pianist Pascal Rogé. Dr. Choi’s artistry has been broadcast globally on platforms including NPR Radio, EBS, and Wish TV’s Indy Style. An accomplished conductor and opera specialist, she has served as an opera coach and assistant conductor for major productions at the Aspen Music Festival, Indianapolis Opera, and Opera Louisiana, coaching elite vocalists from the Metropolitan Opera and San Francisco Opera.

As an esteemed educator, Dr. Choi has guided her students to remarkable heights of recognition. Her studio gained national acclaim when one of her vocal students was selected as an MTNA National Finalist, one of only seven students chosen in the nation. Additionally, her piano and vocal students have garnered numerous awards in both state and international piano/vocal competitions. Her pedagogical expertise is further recognized through her role as a judge for prestigious events, including the Basel International Piano Competition and the GMTA Competitions.

Dr. Choi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance (VCU), two Master’s degrees (Voice Performance at UIUC, and Collaborative Piano at LSU), and a Doctorate in Vocal Coaching and Accompanying from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she studied on a full scholarship. Currently, she continues her dedicated service to the musical community through her premier piano and voice studio in Buford, Georgia.
